Check CAT Syllabus 2015:- CAT 2015 is going to be held on 29 November 2015 (Sunday). The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) conducts common admission test for enrolling of the candidates in post graduate level of education in management studies in well known institutions of India. Eligibility criteria for this program require education of graduation level i.e a bachelor degree with at least 50% (45% in case of SC/ST/PWD) or equivalent CGPA. CAT 2015 exam will have questions from the sections including Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation and Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning. CAT Syllabus 2015 & New Exam Pattern




There are some changes made to the exam pattern of CAT Exam in 2015.

  • The written test will now be of 180 minutes.
  • There will be some subjective type questions.
  • Negative marking will be as like previous years. There is no negative marking for subjective /descriptive type questions.

CAT 2015 syllabus is based on the past paper patterns which usually have questions from these sections.

Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation:

Number Systems, Trigonometry, Geometry, Permutation and Combination, Algebra, Mensuration, Averages, Time and Work problems, Percentages,
Probability, Percentage, Profit And Loss Questions, Linear Equations etc. Geometry, Number System, Time and Distance, Chain Rule, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Allegations and Mixtures, Simple and Compound Interest Problems, Pipes and Cistern, Algebra, Geometrical Sections such as Circles, Triangles, Mensuration, Questions on Bar, Pie and Line Charts, and questions related to Data Sufficiency etc.

Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning:

Reading Comprehension, Paragraph Arrangement, Inference Deduction, Vocabulary, Fill in the blanks and Verbal Reasoning, Syllogism, Analogies, Antonyms and Synonyms, Sentence Correction, Idioms, Clocks, Binary Logic, Calendars, Blood Relations, Logical Sequence, Seating Arrangement, Premise, Conclusion, Assumption, Linear and Matrix Arrangement, Blood Relations, Puzzles, Arguments, Statements and assumptions, Coding and Decoding etc.

CAT 2015 New Exam Pattern Changes in CAT 2015 PATTERN
As per new pattern, there will be questions of both objective & subjective type. However there is still no clarification on how much questions will be subjective or how many are objective. The Time Duration for the exam: 3 hours (total 180 minutes). The exam will consist of 2 sections.




1. Quantitative ability & data interpretation
2. verbal ability & logical reasoning
This time from CAT 2015, there is flexibility to move to switch sections anytime. There will be no tutorial before the start of exam. The exam will be conducted online.
